Kick Back, Put Your Feet Up
Hello and welcome! My name is Rita.
Life is about good food. I love food. I have been taking pictures of the food I eat for years but only a few years ago did I organize it into a blog. Meals on this site range from breakfast, lunch, dinner or a snack – which I think pretty much covers it. Often it’s something I’ve fixed at home but I am known to take pic of my food while in a restaurant much to the chagrin of those at my table.
Sometimes I include a brief ‘how-to’ on preparation but mostly it’s just photos. When I cook I don’t really follow a recipe but use it more as a general guide and enhance it with a little bit of this, a bit of that. Any opinions I give of a restaurant and their food are just that, my opinion.
I love spicy, flavorful food. Bland dishes need not apply. I would probably use jalapeños or Serrano peppers in every meal if I could.
Until recently, I lived in the Rose City —- Portland, Oregon, where it rains 472 day of the year. I now live in Southern Colorado.
I think a vodka martini is da bomb.
My companion and partner in crime in my food adventures is my husband. He has suffered through many a meal waiting to eat until after I’ve captured a photo. Bless his heart. When a meal is served he will automatically wait for the photo to be snapped before digging in. If I’m not seizing the moment he will ask incredulously, “What, no photo?”My husband is also a great sport when it comes to trying something new that I’ve fixed. There have been some times when I’ve peered into the bottom of a crockpot that’s been going for hours and discover the Swamp Thing. He will gamely give it a try while I pass and eat saltines and canned olives.
Oh, and hubby can cook!
