Lobster-Stuffed Clams

Last night my husband & I had dinner at Macaroni Grill. We are regulars and they always treat us so well there from the minute we enter and all throughout our visit.

My favorite waiter is Mike. He wasn’t working in our section but he made sure to stop by and say hello. Ryan was our server. We’ve never met Ryan before but he was a little cutie that did all right but sure seemed nervous.

We tried one of the new menu offerings, lobster-stuffed clams.  The menu describes them as ‘wild-caught clams, pancetta, garlic breadcrumbs, red pepper aioli’.  It’s funny the description doesn’t mention lobster and I have to admit, I didn’t get a lot of lobster out of it.  I also didn’t realize they contained pancetta until just now as I copied the description from their site.  The morsels were pretty tasty though.

In case you were wondering, that is a glass of Santa Margherita Pinto Grigio.

For my main course, I built my own pasta bowl choosing angel hair in an olive oil sauce. Mixed in were grilled chicken and Italian sausage. Also mixed in were broccolini and asparagus.  Pretty tasty and tons of leftovers.  It’s hard to see any of that under the mound of cheese I asked for.  🙂  I also find it challenging to capture a decent photo in that restaurant because of the lighting.
