Kobe Meatloaf

The weekend is here — let’s celebrate!  The Mister mentioned that he was in the mood for meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy.  A quick check online told us that Stanford’s had just the thing on their menu so we headed over there.

Our waiter was a nice young man named Trevor.  Not only was he quite the cutie, but he was very good at his job and charming to boot!  Most excellent customer service.

We  both ordered  the Kobe Meatloaf.  I have to admit that was probably the fanciest meatloaf I’ve ever eaten.  It is Wagyu beef wrapped in bacon with a pepper demi-glaze.  I can honestly say that I’ve never had meatloaf that has been wrapped in bacon and it’s not something that would occur to me to do.  But, everything involving bacon is delicious but pretty rich so I was only able to eat about half of it.  It was served with some really creamy and nicely seasoned mashed potatoes.  The green beans were tasty but just a smidge overcooked to my taste.














Although we were pretty full, we decided to splurge and share a dessert.  We chose the Peach Slump — a rustic cobbler loaded with peaches with buttermilk crumb topping, served with warm cinnamon ice cream.














It was a nice way to end the week.  Good food and good times.  We happily waddled from the restaurant.
