Sesame Noodles with SPAM®

In this house we are almost always in the mood for a noodle or a rice dish.Tonight noodles won out and I made sesame noodles with SPAM®.  Yes,  SPAM®.  Some folks hate it and some folks love it.  I’m a Hapa girl from Oahu so I happen to love it.

Go crazy with your knife and whack up some  SPAM®, celery, carrots, green onions and jalapeños.  This time I seeded one of the peppers so that I wouldn’t run into the problem with my head bursting into flames as that can really mess up your hair.

Pale  SPAM®  in need of browning.

Add soy sauce, sesame oil and garlic…

Add the vegetables and stir-fry for a minute.

In the meantime, boil some linguine or other noodle of your choice.   Once the noodles are al dente, add them to the  SPAM® mix and toss over medium high heat.

Boil your noodles

Add noodles

Stir-fry for another minute or two.  If it seems a little dry add a little of the pasta water.

Dinner is served.  I used my favorite clear dishes that make it appear as though I’ve heaped dinner directly onto the tabletop.

Can’t beat Spam, it’s the staff of life. 🙂

Where in Oahu? My mom is from Kalihi, graduated from Farrington HS.

Hey there — I’m from Pearl City. My family left the islands right before high school but I would’ve attended Pearl City High.
