PF Chang’s!

The Mister and I went up to Colorado Springs to have an early birthday celebration — The Mister’s birthday is actually on Monday.

We haven’t been to a PF Chang’s since we lived in Portland and were pretty excited. I was salivating before I even hit the door.

We started with the Tuna Tataki (slices of seared Ahi topped with a garlic chip, micro greens, jalapeno and ponzu sauce. Served with a chilled seaweed salad). They were different than the last time we had them back in Portland but oh were they delicious!!

For lunch I ordered the Kung Pao chicken but asked them to omit the peanuts. Our lovely waitress suggested I add water chestnuts so I did. Delicious! It tasted so much like my favorite dish from Sungari Dragonwell back in Portland that I wanted to weep with joy to find something like it here.

Fred had the Shrimp Lo Mein but asked them to use the vermicelli noodles that they use in their Singapore Street Noodles dish. He looked completely content with his chopsticks, bowl of noodles and a Tsing Tao beer.

We actually ordered quite a bit of food — a lot of it to go so that we could enjoy more of it another day. We ordered:

  • Tuna Tataki
  • Crab wontons
  • Shrimp Lo Mein
  • Kung Pao Chicken
  • Egg Drop Soup
  • Chicken Noodle Soup (to go)
  • Flaming Red Wontons (to go)
  • Chang’s Spare Ribs (to go)

It was a fabulous time and wonderful food!

A special shout out to our EXCELLENT server, Dana at the PF Chang’s at The Promenade Shops at Briargate. She rocked it! She also wished Fred a happy birthday and surprised him with a slice of birthday cake with a candle. She knew he was stuffed so she packed it to go.
