Fried Wings

I had some wings that I needed to use or freeze so I decided to fry them up.

Chicken wings (I like to use only the first and second sections)
Sriracha sauce (I used about a 1/4 cup)
2 Eggs
Splash of milk (I would have preferred to use  buttermilk, but I didn’t have any)
Bread crumbs
Cayenne pepper

In a bowl, combine the Sriracha sauce, eggs and milk and mix it up well.

Add the chicken to the bowl. Let the chicken marinate for an hour.

Put some flour & Cayenne pepper into a plastic bag and toss in the wings. Shake well to coat. I’m all about the plastic bag method (but you can dredge if you prefer.)

Remove the wings and dip it back into the egg mixture.

Put the breadcrumbs into a plastic bag and toss in the damp wings. Shake well to coat.

In a large skillet pour in about a half inch of oil and heat.

Add the chicken….

Fry until done.

Drain chicken on a paper-towel.

Serve it up.

It wasn’t very spicy so next time I’m either going to let it marinate longer or add a heck of a lot more Cayenne pepper………..I’m also going to use Panko. I thought I’d try something different with bread crumbs but I prefer Panko.

Imagine where we’d be without plastic bags. But, I suppose we’d be using a brown paper bag instead. 🙂

A brown paper bag is hard to come by here. The stores here just don’t seem to use them. I could buy a little pack of the ones used for lunch tho’. Hmm, maybe I will.

Yupper, Panko is so much better than bread crumbs, IMHO anyways. Fortunately, now I can find it pretty much anywhere.

Definitely using panko next time — I too am glad it’s readily available here.
